This is our interests page.

Where we do we get time to do all this?  We often ask ourselves that!    Believe it or not, we both have full time jobs as well.

Interests
Aikido.   We both practise traditional aikido three times a week at a dojo in London.  Gary has practised since 1985 and is black belt 3rd Dan, Linda has practised since 1993 and graded to black belt 1st Dan in June 2000. .

Iaido.  This is Japanese sword drawing done with a blunt replica sword called an iaito.  Linda has practised a form of Iaido called Batto-ho since 1993, Gary has taken this up more recently.  Linda achieved a ranking called shutesshi in 1997, equivalent to black belt.  Linda was ranked Shu Sei Shi in 1999.

True crime.  Linda has a large collection of books on the subject which has interested her for as long as she can remember.  See her true crime articles!

TV,  film and theatre.  Given more time we would go to the theatre and cinema more often than we do!   Good shows at the RSC are an especial favourite.  See Film Reviews and Theatre Reviews

Food and drink.  Linda is a keen cook with a large recipe collection.  Gary likes mixing cocktails.  We each enjoy consuming the other's creations!  We both like good wines, real ales and are members of the Scotch Malt Whisky Society, which holds regular tastings, and CAMRA, the Campaign For Real Ale.  See recipes and links.

Firework displays.  Gary has been involved in organising professional standard displays for some years now, and Linda has assisted him since 1993.  Both have certificates after attending training weekends with a professional company.  See our photos!

Handicrafts.  Gary likes to make plastic, resin or card model kits, particularly with a SF or fantasy theme.  Linda enjoys fine beadwork.  Due to lack of time, craftwork activities are often carried out in front of the TV set!

Science fiction and fantasy.  We both like TV, books and films on these themes, and also attend SF conventions.  We take little persuading to dress up in appropriate costume.

Messing about with computers. Love 'em or loathe 'em, we just can't do without 'em.
