Hallo, and thanks for dropping in! Building, maintaining and writing one's own promotional website is a strange activity for such a shy, retiring person as myself, but it had to be done, and I was the cheapest webmistress I knew. At least you will not find any nasty pop-ups, flashing ads, animated gifs, hit counters, or 'under construction' signs. Neither will there be a fancy intro page, original artwork or javascript. You will find the colour blue a lot because I like blue. I effectively have two careers at present, both of which I love. I freelance as a magazine writer and sub-editor - see my CV - and I write books, the first of which was Chloroform: the quest for oblivion, published by Sutton Publishing in August 2003. My book on Essex Murders was published in May 2004. This was followed by Whiteley's Folly, Gloucestershire Murders, and most recently, The Crooks Who Conned Millions. I am currently hard at work on two new projects. I am a member of the Crime Writers' Association and The Society of Authors. You can see my diary of writing-related activities, and also learn something about me. I hope to include a few more pictures in time! You can write to me at linda@stratmann.me.uk but please allow a little time for me to reply. If you don't get a response in a week or two, do remind me, I have had some recent experiences of my spam filter removing perfectly good messages! Two kinds of messages I will not reply to - abusive ones (very rare) and requests for advice on how to commit a crime (yes, I have had them). Linda Stratmann
