| Pictures of Linda's Beadwork Where I have copied a design from a book, magazine or website, I will give credit to the original designer, who is far more talented than I am!
This choker and earring set was based on a design in Bead and Button magazine, issue number 15, made by Sibyl Rosen. The original was done in linen thread, but I have used 1mm black leather thonging, with a metal feature bead and matte silvery glass accent beads. The earrings are just a short length of the same macrame with the ends left spiky.
This necklace contains approximately 3000 size 11 seed beads! The weave is known as African quadruple helix. I saw the design in Bead and Button magazine issue number 14. It is a traditional design, but I have to thank Virginia Blakelock and Carol Perrenoud for working out how it is done!. Shortly after completing it, I saw a virtually identical necklace (apart from the colours) in a glass case at the British Museum. I have been inspired by this to try my hand at more African beadwork.
This delightful necklace is a design from Emily Hackbarth's wonderful website which I strongly recommend to all eager beaders. The weave is Apache leaf stitch.
